My Decision to Leave PTI

18 Sep

I can tolerate criticism regarding my work, my attitude towards ex-fellow party members and a lot of other things but one thing I have put up with for the last 6 months (since April when I joined PTI in Rajanpur District) is abuse and character assassination. This is something I am simply not ready to tolerate anymore, be it for PTI or anything/anyone else; my respect and principles are more important to me than a party that continues to attack me despite my contributions to it ever since I joined. Admitted, I have made mistakes in the past, but being called a “prostitute,” or hearing/reading insults regarding my late grandfather by PTI workers is simply unacceptable. Yes, I wear what I want and I live my personal life exactly the way I want to – that is between me and myself; no one else ever had or will ever have a right to comment on it. I will never make any apologies for the way I choose to live my personal life. I tolerated my personal life being put up for criticism and abuse by PTI workers and ignored it because I believed in PTI’s vision and did not want to put any impediments in the way to their success.

When PTI started taking in feudals and lotas, I stood by them because Khan convinced us that he knew what he was doing. Despite his dictatorial decisions in the PSC in granting Musharraf’s ex-ministers the most significant positions in the party, I stood by my ex-leader. I trusted his judgment. I trusted that these people were coming into our party because they had changed and wanted a Pakistan that was a democratic, progressive welfare state. I was only to realize slowly and gradually how impaired my judgment had been. I even went so far as to stick by my party when party workers hurled stones at me and literally molested me at the Pindi Jalsa because I thought “if its for Pakistan, I can stick it out.” I just recently realized, well no, its not really for Pakistan is it? Is this a Pakistan any sane person would want to say? Admitted, PTI is the only option right now as the others have PROVEN to be corrupt and inefficient, but why should I continue to defend a party where a) not only am I abused but b) the senior party leadership has only its power-hungry interests at heart.

When I was angry, I wrote a 2 page article on specific people that were discrediting PTI and details of how they were influencing Khan to move away from the ideology we have had for 16 years. This was till I realized, I’m better than that. Just because PTI had treated me like dirt doesn’t mean I’m going to reciprocate such disgusting treatment. PTI Rajanpur and I will continue to work on an individual level on social work projects which are my main aim for the next few years. The people of Rajanpur are just as much my responsibility as I am theirs. I will continue to speak for those oppressed as I have always done – no Leghari or feudal sardar is going to be able to defeat that part of me. I truly pray that Khan wakes up and realizes that his party has been hijacked, as my mother stated, which only resulted in sick PTI workers abusing her as well, conveniently forgetting about how hard she has worked for Pakistan all her life, even without party affiliations. Khan may think he knows what he’s doing, but when he passes comments (regarding the Rajanpur jalsa which he did not attend), saying “convince them to come back later/why cant they just come back tomorrow,” I feel he has lost touch with the poverty-stricken and neglected population of not only Southern Punjab, but Pakistan, as a whole. These were poor people, most of them affected directly by the floods, who had borrowed money to try to make ends meet just to be able to hear Khan speak to them for 20 minutes. A delay in DGK, sitting and convincing more sardars to lend their support just doesn’t cut it as a justification for keeping these people waiting. If it had been just the wait, one could even forgive that – but the fact that he didn’t even bother apologizing to those people was what made me sick to my stomach. What pushed it one step forward was Awais Leghari’s attack against my mother, calling her  “unreasonable” for standing up for people who are oppressed by the system his feudal mindset propagates.

I for one am tired of slogans of change without any concrete policy. I sincerely pray internal party elections result in the removal of damaging elements from within PTI. I could write on and on about how senior leadership in the party has disrespected one another, including Khan’s disrespect towards my mother, but that’s another issue which I do not wish to delve into – ENOUGH of dirty politics.

Pakistan is and always will be my home; my soil to which I will always give back in whichever way I can – but I can no longer remain in a party where my ideology conflicts with theirs. If it is really a change Khan wants to bring about, why is the old guard of PTI shunned and humiliated so that he can use Tareen’s private jet? How Imran Khan thinks this isn’t elitism shocks me!

InshaAllah when I have my degree in hand and have served Pakistan to the extent where I feel I am in a position to re-enter politics, I have no other ambition but to do so. Until that day, health, education, women’s rights and other projects that I had been working on in Pakistan will not come to an end. Infact, with no party affiliation, I am in a more credible position to carry out my work. To all those who abused me and my family, I pray for you and hope you develop into decent human beings because that is something that PTI clearly hasn’t taught you. Criticizing Imran Khan does not make me a “traitor.” I am free to criticize on issues where I feel the nation is being misled; blind faith in a leader (any leader at all) is not the way I work – sorry to disappoint.

I appreciate the work that the Imran Khan Foundation and Shaukat Khanum are engaging in – but that’s what Imran Khan is superb at; social work. He is an asset for Pakistan in terms of his dedication in the field of social work. As a politician, I feel like he needs to remember who he was 15 years ago and what vision he had because it no longer exists in the party. What are considered “electables” aren’t what Pakistan needs – what we need is an honest and focused leader who will stick to his initial convictions and beliefs even when offered the short cut.

It won’t be long before Imman discovers that PPP, PML N , MQM and JI weren’t so bad after all and may join any of the them, thus adding to their lists of UNELECTABLE . Further she would be happy to learn for the first time that non of these parties ever worked with or under Dictatorial regimes.

Imaan Mazari daughter of respectable Shireen Mazari should be ashamed of herself for doing dirty propoganda against our party, our chairman and most importantly the loyal die heart party workers…u insulted us without looking in urself.
PTI gave ur mother respect which i can bet she would get in any party. Just to get attention of people like Sana Bucha u just wrote a rubbish article. Ur mother is her unique hair style(which is not in pakistani culture) given speech at all stages in PTI…and never have PTI felt little discouraged about her dressing or her unique style. U blame my chairman without knowing about him. Ask ur mother before projecting urself my wrong means. The way she stands at PTI meeting and insults the party chairman while chairman patiently takes her insult. doesnt she tell u the way she interrupts him several times in one meeting when sitting right next to the great KHAN. shame on Imaan mazari who has no political grounds. Who once screamed her mother for bringing PTI flags inside the house. Like you we the workers of PTI wont get personal with u. but dont just spill ur frustration on PTI. just because ur ‘corner meeting’ got canceled ur saying all this. its not about someone calling u ‘prostitute’. its about the rajanpur meeting that got canceled because of Awais Leghari. Who for u is not human. Ideology is not compromised if Leghari or Sardar join us. U dont know what ideology is. When u stand by ideology only a bullet can bring u down. You dont know what PTI ideology is. If u knew u would blame Khan for anything. The insulting way ur talking about a 60 year old who has not seen his bed for last one month. How dare u blame him like this. when PTI had only one spokesmen that was DR SHIREEN MAZARI, and SHE WOULDNT go to talk shows just because it was ‘cold’ outside. but ur mothers leader understood the problem. he knew she was a mother…and die heart female worker of PTI.
It doesnt end here. Ur still in womb when it comes to politics. What makes us the workers of PTI furious is not that ur talking against the last hope of pakistan but ur sick intention behind the whole thing. atleast Sana Bucha and company gave u projection. Whats next….?????

Niazi sahib!!! what a reply you made to a girl…. who is not eben the age of your experience in politics. I know the ownership to people and or people issues is so tough that commitmits must not deviate than. When IK committed to visit the Rajanpur than even ther is a couple of persons, he must visit….. its matter of engagement wth people. If you dont have that much political sense than there no right of other people to quit PTI , if they are standing with people. ”Baray jalson ne aap ke hosh khata kar diyae hain aur rajan pur ka jalsa ab aap ko corner meeting lata gai… do u know how much U/Cs rajanpur district have? even by the way how much people minimum you require to attend themor speak them???”

I can understand your resentment but should nt Ik win the elections to bring a change, the party will have it’s good and bad people but you should have not given up that easily. You are saying that he is a great social worker and yet he does not care for poor people? Does nt it sound contradictory. But anyway I respect your mother a lot, and this is not a right time to ditch the party, specially when the main aim to make Pakistan better.

very regretful decision but the fact is politics is like walking in the mud wearing white cloths in the rain… so you should have expected such attitude of people… and pti members are also the same Pakistani for whom you worries and want them to progress but by leaving them because of some retarded people is not a wise decision but everybody have a free will to choose how to live their lives. being a pti member and PAKISTANI… I apologize for our national behavior of hate and abuse towards you but still we have to live among such people as if we got disappointed from them then who will correct them and guide them. once again i am sorry for people attitude take care dear.

  13. Naushad Ali September 18, 2012 at 10:16 pm #

By the way i followed all related twitts of last two days….. yes there were harsh words but there were no abuse at all. she said she was called ” Prostitue” I searched last two days twitts and there was no twit like that. So keep this pretend with you self …. if IK get late so what S Mazari hold key position in PTI and she was there with Rajanpur people… Respected S Mazari had twitted illogical i will say yes,why she gave a statement both at jalsa venue and on social media” PTI is hijacked by Sardars” , in response to that twit Laghari twitted that the criticism was unreasonable and IK reached to DGK at 2:30. and he clearified that due to bad weather IK postponed Rajanpur visit. i think in response to S Mazari twit ,IK twit later on that he have to take hard decision, and he should as S Mazari herself hold a key position in PTI and she should carefuly select words for showing differences. And due to harsh fire from S Mazari IK took his decision back to visit Rajanpur and instead he choose to go to Balochistan flood affected area.
I will say yes , difference should be there but giving a statement by a party key position holder which lead to defame of party should not be tolerated.

S larki ne s bath ko izat ka masla ba na diya aor ab s ne pori taqreer share kar di.. Propaganda kr ne walay har do din baad s larki ka thana dengy k deko wo chali gayi halanki ye bechari abi b bachi he…..:)

    Well written. All the best.

  15. Ahsan Alavi September 18, 2012 at 10:19 pm #

First of all,im saddened by the fact that you left the party because I genuinely believe that you also wanted change in Pakistan like the rest of us.Secondly, you know how i have always defended you and condemned all the abuse hurled at you. However,I think at times, even you crossed the line when you would retweet sum tweets from pml n’s twitteratis & took on some of the senior leaders of the party! Further more you talk about PTI being hijacked by some feaudals and lota’s..Point is,the lota’s & feaudal’s who dont want change are already leaving the party as PTI has made it very clear through their decision of internal elections, assets declaration & the local govt & economic policy where no discretionary & development funds will be given to MPA’s & MNA’s.Now,those who can accept that will stay in the party, others can take a walk! Its the vision of the
leader which matters, and IK is not someone who can be bought by few opportunists. He is controlled by his vision. As he always says, you compromise for your vision, not on your vision. We all at times become short sighted & overlook the ultimate goal because of some hiccups in between. Also,if IK travels in JKT’s private jet or expensive cars, that is not elitism because he has no protocol,no armed guards! He has no fear of death! For the last 10 days he has literally been on the road, travelling to all parts of Pakistan, from GB to Astore to Chitral,Dir to DG Khan and then the interior Sindh, interacting & mingling with people.Would you call that elitism?? Would anyother leader even dare doing that?? I would suggest you ask yourself this question..Also,you say that IK needs to go back, change his attitude and think about the 15 years struggle.I think IK very well realizes about his struggle..Im sorry to say,but u gave up,because of some abuses and attacks on your personal life, just imagine the attacks & criticism IK has faced from all the sections of the society, but he never gave up,because he doesnt accept defeat! Obviously, with age, you’ll learn to be more patient, resilient and focused on your objective.I can imagine, not evryone can be Imran Khan..As for his visit to Rajanpur, yes I think he should have visited & if he did not,he should compensate by apologizing and visiting some other time. But I think miss Shireen Mazari is the best person to sort out that problem..Anyway,all the best to you for your future! After all we are all working for a prosperous Pakistan. Our methods & platform might be different, but our goal is the same!!

    • Masood Alavi September 19, 2012 at 10:03 am #

Wonderful Ahsen very well written. I am impressed the way you have presented your point of view, in a just and logical manner. People shouldn’t get disheartened from criticism as it is part of the game you are in. also one has realize that nothing can and would go go according to my whims and wishes. There is something which is maturity and that comes only with time. You Miss Iman realizes that as they say the earlier the better.

    • Rashid Butt September 19, 2012 at 2:06 pm #

Mr Alvi very nice reply and I agree with you

    • Usman Farhat September 19, 2012 at 9:23 pm #

Very well written and described all that i wanted to write. Imran could not visit duento bad weather, but Dr Mazari is CEC member, so she is top leadership already there. Being CEC member, that was the forum where she should have sorted out.

And about abuses, how come a single morron represent whole PTI (if he really is pti member), we all here are discussing in healthier way, so what about us? One can not generalize whole PTI for couple of morrons.

Sign of an immature politician. Hasty decisions and twitter-politics. I am no Imran Khan supporter. But I find no difference between you and bilawal bhutto zardari. You are in politics only due to your mother.

  17. M.B September 18, 2012 at 10:45 pm #

You should have left the party the day Tareen and his cabinet joined PTI. Anyhow better late than never. Khan needs to realize that Pakistan requires an honest leader and not just a talented leader, otherwise Babar Awan, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Aitazaz are more talented than Qasoori, Tareen etc… All of those who joined PTI after 30th Oct were opportunists But Khan was not ready to accept this reality. One day he will but it will be too late then.

  18. Sed September 18, 2012 at 11:03 pm #

You have my sympathies. PTI has lost its ideology it is now acting as anyother traditional party which is heart breaking for many people like me who have supported PTI for a decade now.

Most of the pioneers have left due to the same reasons which you have mentioned. When other parties criticized PTI I always thought that it is just political rivalry and traditional political tactics but PTI as a whole has proven that those criticisms were spot on. Old and loyal members have been sidelined from holding any prominent position while the people who joined PTI just now are being awarded important positions with the pretext that old members will defend the ideology of PTI. But what ideology is left now? I could never have dreamed the Imran Khan will end up defending the same feudal lords he had promised to fight.

Please realize that you or respected Dr. Sheerien Mazari are not the only victims in this onslaught of abuses, the other day some PTI supporters criticized and abused the good Dr. Abdul Qadeer to such an extent that I was dumbfounded. I seriously wonder if that is the kind of youth we would want to entrust our futures with. They have left ‘Jiyalas’ of PPP far behind in their fan worship. I wanted PTI to be a mature democratic entity where criticism was not only tolerated but positive criticism was appreciated and encouraged but alas PTI has ended up a personality cult. The famed youth turned out to be worse then followers of traditional parties.

I hope Dr. Sheerien will also distance herself from this mess as the continued presence of people like Dr. Sheerien is giving credibility to this farce. Please don’t be depressed look forward and think big. Start a political initiative yourself, no matter how small it may be. The Pakistani public wants a clean political party and educated people like you can fill this gap.

    Sed-

Imaan you should feel dirty, cheap and violated after reading the above post. Do read it carefully. The poster is a Noora propagandist is one of Ahsen Iqbals many paid pets. You gave these low lives a life line.

That by the way, their Relection strategy rob Pakistanis from any hope. Sow Despair,Fear and Anger in the masses. Once they snuff out the last embers of change and people resign to a cruel fate their job is done.Cause you have to positively suicidal to vote for ANP,MQM,PPP,PML Q and PMLN after what they have done to this country repeatedly.

His every word drips with malice and poison. Yet he isnt man enough to declare his Political affiliations ( Noora Leage). Even Chankia would be flabbergasted at how disingenuous and two faced these people are.
He represents whats wrong with Pakistan. Where everything is negotiable and everything is for sale. These are the people who would destroy a Cancer Hospital just to get some airtime. They would break up families, write lies about peoples personal lives, spread relgious bigotry and hate just to get a few votes.

Cowards and Hypocrites like him are a dime a dozen and not worth anyone time. You however ,.Thanks to your mother are not. Thats why people like him will endlessly quote people like you.

If PTI were really hijacked by feudals and lost its ideology and IK was also corrupted do you think these people would all be still foaming at their mouth and united in their opposition to PTI.

If these status quo jokers (“Traditional parties)”get another chance to expand Ittefaq industries at Pakistan expense. I will blame you, Imaan and others like you, who couldn’t see beyond their nose. You played your part by playing into their hands.

By serendipity and by accident of birth you were afforded a chance to make a difference, to matter to make a change you wasted it away instead provided these jackals entertainment….

      • Sharmila Farooqi September 19, 2012 at 12:53 pm #

He pointed out what went wrong in PTI, rather then getting personal with him you should clarify that.

Please stop it with these blame games, you whole answer is composed of either personal attacks or attacking other political parties. Well as a PTI supporter I’m ashamed to say that there is no difference left between PTI and other political parties.

I supported PTI for people like Dr. Sheerien Mazari not for feudals like Leghari and peers like SMQ. How the heck can a Peer become Vice President of a progressive party?

Shouldn’t you be wearing something that is compliant with Islamic preaching. If it is Pakistan that you want to serve and somehow “save”, then you have to make it trully Islamic. Isn’t that why you separated from India in the first place? Isn’t Islam that give you a separate identity? So wear a Hijab and stay inside the house as islam recommends. Afterall aren’t you created to serve a male master, as per Islam? If you don’t believe it, why don’t you get out of the religion and openly say it. Are’t you being a hypocrite? Isn’t your heart filled with hared, just like your mothers? Isn’t the whole charade about what is in it for me? Istn’t it about what position you can hold in the new party? Nothing will satisfy you… You should practice what Islam says and be a slave for your master.

    • Bissmah Mehmud September 26, 2012 at 10:33 am #

What is with people and clothes and dressing? I for one don’t care how our politicians dress. Pakistanis need to grow up. Islam isn’t just about wearing a burka. If Imaan doesn’t wear a burka doesn’t mean she can’t be a part of Pakistan’s political scene. I’m glad she left PTI. Imaan good for you, and don’t listen to the stuff people are saying about how you dress. Empty vessels make most noise. And also, I think all of Pakistan’s political scene is a mess. Forget politics. There are other ways to contribute to the society and the country. I would seriously suggest you stay out of it. Not worth it.

      • abdullah October 7, 2012 at 6:50 am #

no doubt there are many ways to contribute but through individual efforts, you can not change the system. in Pakistan there is need to change the entire system and it is possible only through political process by forming govt through support of masses. it is not necessary that imaan would have abused by pti workers; in social media and processions, there are 3rd forces and imaan final letter that she did not criticize imran khan and still declared him a ray of hope in the available stuff.

    Don’t u think there are few contradicting statements? Once I suggested u to alienate from PTI & let Ma’am Shireen handle it herself. But you blocked me on twitter. Anyway, didn’t mean disrespect but this blog made many sad. I’d like you to read this now pls;

    PTI’s Problem Kid?

  23. arslank September 19, 2012 at 12:14 am #

Imaan..Sorry but you have disappointed me for many reasons starting from taking twitter so seriously and then doing exactly what The trolls on twitter wanted u to do.

First of all u should remember how PTI supporters stood beside u when PML-N ran a character assassination campaign against u. Even yesterday all PTI supporters were not happy at failure of IK to reach Rajan Pur and many including me thought that Dr Mazari’s outrage was a normal reaction.Yes some were also of view that she over reacted but isnt disagreement over issues and statements a part of civilized society?

.I firmly believe that true PTI supporters were gentle with u while describing their disagreement and only few intolerant ones or ppl with fake ids were the ones who hurled abuses at u.However what I couldnt understand was why did u take the twitter thing so seriously? U could have simply blocked them, ignored them etc

Before i respond to some other things that u mentioned ,i would like you to see this post made by an anti-pti guy on siasat.pk where he is saying that abuse Dr Mazari as she has criticized IK..Just have a look at replies in this post and see how all PTI supporters took your mothers’ side and instead bashed the person who tried to misguide other users.I’m dead sure many non pti supporters have abused u without you knowing their reality.

    http://www.siasat.pk/forum/showthread.php?133787-Feudal-lords-have-hijacked-PTI-Shireen-Mazari

About hijacking of Party,,,,sorry Imaan again i disagree for the reason that i’m watching how electables are not happy within the party and they dont enjoy the freedom in PTI that they enjoy in other parties..Many electables coming from other parties are leaving PTI just because of that.IK hasnt changed one bit,its just that PTI has expanded a bit.Rest assured PTI cant be hijacked by any feudal lord or Sardar..

Reconsider your move,if people like us started to get disappointed then Pakistan has no future. As Joe Biden said “Dont compare me with the Almighty, compare me with the alternatives you have”..Same applies to IK and PTI too 🙂

    • Naushad Ali September 19, 2012 at 9:27 am #

What this girl did is totally childish and she is finished from pti Family. She is now like a female version of Qazi leave her and let her to …..:).

Her Mom joined PTI in 2009 and she Got the position of “PTI Vice President Foreign and Security Affairs” based on the talent she have. She repeatedly show negative attitude to the new comers. And she have a right to do so.
God know why IMran khan postponed his to visit Rajanpur, and it was not a good move and we all sided S Mazari and were of the view that IK should visit Rajanpur and he was actually planning to do so.
But we astonished at the reaction of S Mazari, by giving the statement that ” PTI is Hijacked by Sardars” was totaly nonsense. She is a key postion holder of PTI and she could handle the situation wisely rather than shouting on IK and PTI directly.
I am of the view that PTI should react strongly against S Mazari on giving such an irresponsible statement.
We Support IK and we are observing closely. He is trying his best and we salute him for his dedication. He is a human and may have weaknesses, but still we love him more than anybody else. His dedication, hard work and commitment will always be remembered in Pakistan History. And Inshallah he will succeed in making pakistan a peaceful, prosperous and strong country.

When you become a politician & a public figure then your personal life becomes less important or shall I say it also becomes a matter of public opinion. You become people`s representative & it is your duty to live up to the expectations of your own. And being an aspiring politician you should have known that there is no shortage of people who will always be ready to test your patience & ruin your image.

As for the lotas & feudals, you can`t just take them out of the equation. This is an ugly truth. Most of the Pakistan is made up of these kind of politicians & you can`t rule out their influence even in a party like PTI.

You should have known that politics is not for the young, immature & naive. It is a nasty game. And only a person with cunning mind can survive. I think you haven`t noticed the dirty games played in politics. With obnoxious allegations to disgusting claims, but a seasoned politician does not give up, he fights even if he is guilty. You do remember what happened between Kashmala Tariq & Firdaus Ashiq Awan? And it was indeed one of the dirtiest things to ever happen in our politics.

The decision is yours & I am no one to give you any kind of advice. All I can say is that politically it was not a very appropriate move. You shouldn`t have joined the politics in the first place if you think you were not made for it. Best of Luck.

Good luck! Your mother is a great lady and no one can take away the respect she carries within and outside of PTI. Unfortunately, we still live in a male dominated society; and I guess, everyone has a tipping point, all of us should be empathetic to those who haven’t yet hit theirs. I will keep supporting Khan in his endeavors, until I have a reason to believe that, he has compromised his objectives!

  26. Yasir H. Sheikh September 19, 2012 at 12:55 am #

There were many more than enough feudals in PTI when you joined in April. So quit whining about feudals; you have never been an insider into party’s central committees so your writing is babbling in defense. You are too naive and too young to survive in the current political system, so it’s a good decision for you until you grow up. Good luck!

  27. Rizwan Yahya September 19, 2012 at 3:07 am #

“Yes, I wear what I want and I live my personal life exactly the way I want to – that is between me and myself; no one else ever had or will ever have a right to comment on it. I will never make any apologies for the way I choose to live my personal life.”

I stopped reading after this.. No political figure or political worker can say such childish thing.. you did well leaving politics.. it is not meant for you.. being in politics means constantly being scrutinised by voters, media, opposition parties, rival groups etc.

Good luck with your life.. Best of Luck!

PS: If you want people to read ahead of the sentence i mentioned.. then remove it..

  28. Nasir September 19, 2012 at 3:29 am #

It is so funny to see the grand daughter of a Sardar criticize feudals. Why does she have to leave the only party where she stands a chance of proving her mettle. If the electables are so bad for the party, the party will reject them. In the intraparty elections and she can come and take their place because she is the one who it seems has done all the work. You can either talk of meritocracy and democracy within the party or giving importance to the ‘old guard’ irrespective of how competent they are! You can’t have both.

Imaan – You are such a sincere human being and a respectable Pakistani. For few people who bothered you, all nobodies of PTI like me would like to apologize, if that makes a difference. But please don’t quit. Just like it is easy to die for a purpose than to live for a purpose, it is also very difficult to drag a crowd to the goal post than achieving your own noble objective. Choice is yours. But it goes without saying that any sincere and educated person like you leaving PTI is a significant loss to all of us. It is not Imran Khan alone that makes PTI, its all of us, you and I included that make PTI. The world is full of pain not because there aren’t enough nice people around but because most of them are all striving on their own to fix things. It is only after we put our hands together that we can make a difference significant enough that will outlive us…

Your decision to leave PTI is your own to make, and is regrettable Imaan. However, apart from the name-calling and stone throwing, molesting, other reasons mentioned are just as childish as those given by the very people you term ‘lotas’ who hop around from one place to another. It is not appropriate coming from you either; if your mother has something to say then she should.

I for one believe that it is times like these that test your nerves and one’s resolve to achieve their goals no matter what impedes the way. I’m sorry that you have caved-in so quickly rather than to fight it out in the arena where a struggle makes the most impact.
Wish you well for your future endeavours.

U nailed it in the last paragraph except you failed to mention the sole reason is khan is not a politician at all to handel this. u need a cricketer to lead a cricket team a rugby player to lead a rugby team similarly u need a politician to lead a political team…15 years he remained a failed politician though he had a vision…its jst a couple year back when uncle pasha provided support even through decesions we saw PTI on the rise… but alas this could not end the inner of Khan shb… PTI demise is on its way..soon this will be restricted to him and javed hashmi types who are are best in criticizing others!

His social work, which he did not for others not for himself, was damage by because of his political views.

From personal to social life, he lost every thing for Pakistan.I can spend a well established life like Waeem akream & Waqar younis, But he stood for Pakistan when we were not aware of the ABC of Pakistan politics.

  43. Sheikh Chilli (@sheikh69chilli) September 19, 2012 at 5:53 am #

In politics, when rubber hits the road (ie; elections), you need far greater momentum to get things rolling, especially when you are contesting on a national level. So naturally, money and influence have entered PTI and IK now, has less use for small fries, who may be far more sincere and committed to the cause, than large fish that can get things done on the ground.

For these perennial, die-hard PTI workers to quietly leave Dodge into the hands of the feudals, is tantamount to treachery with the movement. When things get tough, is the time when the tough should pull up their sleeves and get going.

If you are going to hitch-up your skirt and go running, because of eve-teasing from your own fold, could you have really sustained a vicious onslaught from the ghundas of PPP/PMLN ?. I think not. IK has suffered bloody noses, broken bones and bruises on his personal life. He sacrificed his marriage and his relationship with his children, for this PTI. Quaid-e-Azam sacrificed his own marriage and child for Pakistan.

Maybe you guys aren’t cut-out for Pakistani politics. Maybe, you two should stick to more quieter and calmer ventures, like academia and social work, where you determine how much you are willing to give, rather than what is being asked of you. Much safer that way. Best of luck to you.

    Dear Imaan,
In next few hours I have my MSC dissertation presentation but I couldn’t resist reading your blog because I really wanted to know what made you felt so bad. I am PTI supporter myself, and don’t worry I am not here to abuse you but just want to say that I fully respect your decision.
So you have left the party because of two reasons; first that PTI workers are abusive and second that feudals have hijacked the party.
On the second part, I will write a blog soon and will paste my link here. Hopefully you will find some time to read it and give me your feedback.
About the PTI workers abusing, to be honest I have also felt the same that PTI workers and members are not well mannered. But, do you think its the problem with PTI or Pakistani society? Imran Khan and PTI has a huge following in Pakistan, workers and members belong to different segments of society. Our society has deteriorated as a whole, and unfortunately most of the members of our society don’t have courage and patience to listen to other person’s point of view. Do you remember why Salman Taseer was killed? Only because he said something which no one had courage to say. You will always get abuse and threats in this country if you have courage to say something which challenges the view of the majority.
In short, you can’t blame PTI for not teaching PTI workers how to behave and respect. This is something which parents, family and education teaches.
I wish you best of luck for the future, and hope you get the respect you deserve.

    • Muneeb Noor September 19, 2012 at 6:20 am #

i don’t own any position in party, but i have an eye on party affairs. i also know few revolutions and its process, so i won’t suggest u anything.but the way it is going and how u r telling all happening in party in this blog, i must say it is going in right direction.it will take some time but it will be fine after some refining. Everything will be fine as it will clear the dust around us. When people entered in the party in numbers, lot of them were with their interests but they will have a hard time there. I believe its very hard time for PTI, so the one who is sincere to the country and then party must not leave it at any cost. Soon a time will come when refining will complete its process. Be patient and just have faith on leader. I can see corrupt people leaving the party so the opportunist will also leave.

Crux: Until that day, health, education, women’s rights and other projects that I had been working on in Pakistan will not come to an end.

Yes, that’s how it should be. Channelize your energy where the heart is and where it’s needed. You, I’m sure are doing a good job out there. Poly-ticks, is not our forte … hence in our private dimension let’s do something for Pakistan. I’m myself associated to a couple of things and putting in my cents. We don’t need a platform, or a Mian or a Khan, worst case a Bhutto to pat our back so achieve the overall objectives for a better Pakistan!

Good work and all the best, my ambitious, honest Pakistani!

  51. Waqar September 19, 2012 at 7:26 am #

I respect your decision to leave PTI and condemn the attitude of those who hurled abuses. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and this is something we need to learn. However, the best platform to criticize a leader is within the party domain and not the public domain – as this gives ammo to competitors bent on destroying PTI’s image. IK not showing up at Rajanpur must have disappointed all the people who had gathered to hear him – but his reasons were not entirely unfounded – IK is not getting any younger and driving all the way after the Chttral drive would have been difficult. So we must give him some margin. It is unfortunate to see devoted people like yourself leave PTI as I think PTI needs good ppl now more than at any other time – IK is the only choice right now and he needs sincere workers. No doubt the old guard in PTI are the ones who struggled and brought PTI to the point where it could become a large party – but any party needs team-work and we need to understand that there can’t be discrimination on the basis of old and new. Anyone who is aligned with the party ideology and can bring in votes needs to be courted by IK for party’s success – and we should be mindful of that

Sorry cant respect your decision. Your reasons are disingenuous, half baked and self serving. Your conflating of random idiots on twitter to the whole of PTI is hurtful to anyone having anything to do with the party. Many people had rocks thrown in Faisalabad Jalsa (for purely logistical reason, ppl in fornt were hogging the stage) only you threw a hissy fit.

As for your cat fight with other PTI women. Cry me a river lady . You chose to partake in this exercise. In politics you have to be patient to the extreme. Not everyone is nice or to your liking. This is a fractured country filled with hopeless depressed people. By most standards most suffering from one or another Psychiatric problem. You need a solid chin.
If you could not you could chose a more hands of approach. We alls should know our limitations. For example I am a PTI supporter since 2001, and by my own reckoning may have turned 50 or so people to PTI. Sure I could have done more being a misanthrope I know my limitations.

But these words may be lost on some one who chose to leave a party due to random insults on twitter. But you even went further you chose to publicly damage PTI just for your 15 minutes. I am sure there may have been many platform in the party to address these issues you could talk to anyone you wanted in the party hierchy given your access. But you chose instead to try your best to denigrate and destroy a party with I crore members, without a single worthwhile reason. Its ugly to watch…

This may have been your 6 month long Hobby but for millions its the last glimmer of hope. The fact of the matter is your mother and Owais Leghari are having a tiff and PTI is the collateral damage. You people cant see beyond your petty oversized egos.

As for IK and him not coming to Jalsa at Rajanpur. I have to say this is the most ridiculous reason to get mad about . Have you any idea how many events he had to go to in this week alone. From Dir,Chitral, Charsada, DGK etc etc. Your mothers tweets show that she did not expect IK to come to the Jalsa at Rajanpur. You only had a problem when he went to DGK to see the IKF ppl.

And to Set the record straight Owais Leghari has NEVER insulted Shireen Mazari. I have gone through all his tweets, TV appearances and Press reports.
Go ahead reproduce one tweet where you think he has. In fact he has bend over backwards giving SM the respect she undoubtedly deserves. In return you call him a fat cat feudal and presume many things. He was born with his lot what should he do to wash this perceived stain of Feudalism. His most timid response results in you and Dr SM going beserk.

Feudal is just a tired Insult. Your family and my family and any one in the Upper class or Upper middle class have all benefited one way or the other from state largesse. We are the plunderers of Pakistan by virtue of our class. The lax tax code, state largese benefited us wether we like it or not. But does that menas we cant aspire to change things. Just because you accuse some one of being a feudal are you robbing him of any chance of redemption???

Using your logic.SM went on a scholarship to US to do her studies does that make her a CIA agent, should her every word be suspect by virtue of that fact? This is the Brittle thinking of a suicide bomber.

And IK has lost touch with the poverty stricken masses of S Punjab?. So the good ppl of DG Khan are less deserving of his visit?Btw He was at an IKF camp distributing things. It wasnt like he was out hunting deer with the Legharis.
.Its easy to pontificate while sitting pretty in Ediburgh. While you let your 60 r old Plus party leader who had major operation a few years back run up and down Pakistan like a mad Dog.

You are using the people in Rajanpur as a ruse. If IK itinerary for the week, weather conditions is explained to them. The would not have a problem showing up a day later. They are like most people in Pakistan understanding and not full of them selves. However other would play politics on their name. What exactly should IK apologize about. The Weather, Flight condition, Miscommunication, bad scheduling??? Or putting up with Over sized Babies for 16 years??

IK went along with the hair brained scheme of Intra party election and will surely suffer politically for this. But even that isnt enough to placate the territorial small minded so called Nazariti old guard of PTI. Who could not muster altogether 2000 votes in 3 elections. Not all of them mind you just a conceited self obsessed portion. Just like the Hotis and maybe even lagharis and other lotas abandon ship. These morons should also leave. They add nothing. PTI isnt their property.

Sure you can dismiss me as another troll. But you know what I have written is true. If you have any scrupples you would realize what you have done has absolutely nothing to do with principles. When the going gets tough the tough get going.
I hope you can swallow your pride and do the right thing.

The best response that I have seen to this stupid blog. The comment about oversize babies must have really hurt.

    • Mastah September 30, 2012 at 2:07 am #

You have given an excellent reply that has outlined most concerns. Its just some drama or something like trying to get air time. You know people didn’t know who you were but now they will find out who you are and hate you for damaging PTI in such an immature way. Maybe you should’ve commented or blogged upon this AFTER you got your degree in Law. That would’ve taught you some sense. Looking back in 10 years you will definitely regret what you’ve written about PTI and IK over something so trivial. It’s like saying “You didn’t come to my birthday party, dont talk to me ever”. Please grow up.

    Imaan,
Thanks for evry thing you wrote. The thing before IK is to grab power these days only. Mrs. Shireen Mazari is my teacher , my mentor and my role model over the years. I know the time in 2004 when IK visisted Quaid E Azm University and asked us to join Pakistan Tehrik E Insaf. we were reluctant but joined and worked hard to best of us. the dictatorial leadership of IK never subjected to us as My Teacher Shireen Mazari never taught us this. He nay be leder. we may like his ideology, we may vote him to come in power but we can never treat him like as Demi God. He must respect every person who has given his time, efforts and blood to this party to get to welcome satge. I am with you although i am leaving party but IA the disresptcful elements will be eliminated soon.
    God bless you .
    Say salam to my mentor.

I’m not PTI worker, and my affiliation are only with Pakistan but I’ve an advice for you.
JOIN BACK to continue the fight….
You left party just by looking at your interests and character assassination (and tat too thru twitter…:O), not thinking abt the ppl of the country by serving them from a strong platform; and tat platform needs critics from within party to save it from its own devils.
    Be tat critic from within…

Hi Imaan, Change does not come from the peoples its within, If people dont want to change them self system can not be change. Respect for individuals are far important then these political parties. I think you have made the change to respect your self and stand for it in Pakistan political system. don need to worry about the out come one day you will be proud of your decision.

    Regards

Are you sure the PTI persons abused you, may be they are from other parties, bcz they are more active than PTI guys, ???? Secondly everyone want to meet IK, if IK doest not meet anyone he becomes angry ???? How can IK meet with every single person of PTI ??? This is IK mistake that he didnot go in Rajanpur after promising you . One thing more idealogy never die, even single person act on it, USA and NATO, couldnot destroy Taliban idealogy. So the person does not matter in idealogy.

  64. Faisal Riaz September 19, 2012 at 9:37 am #

Quite sad to hear that… But you must be having a valid reason… Keep working for Pakistan in your best capacity… bearing tag of any party is neither important nor required to serve the country….

The Agenda is been hijacked but if people like you leave the party plus people like mam Shreen decided to take a side then who is going to at least remind IK what was the original agenda…. GOD Save PAKISTAN

  66. Shaw September 19, 2012 at 10:46 am #

You should have been aware of how the politicians are treated and yet you joined PTI. IK was supposed to be a role model for you. What he has endured in Musharraf era is before us, his sisters were publicly beaten by police, he was dragged out of an Uni Campus by students, the utter loads of bullshit people say about his personal life seems to be a never-ending story, yet he is standing firm, fighting for the cause.
Its not PTI’s loss, its yours! you were lucky to be given an opportunity to serve the people of Pak, but you clearly FAILED!! I hope all the people who are only in party for vested-interests and keep themselves above the party well-being leave PTI before elections..

It is very disappointing. If people like Bhinder, Hoti and Aleem Khan leave PTI, it was expected and this will not gonna destroy PTI reputation in fact it will increase PTI and IK reqpute of not being compromise on merit. But why PTI old senior leaders like S. Mazari criticizing IK and defaming PTI in public gatherings. We know in PTI core committee meetings leaders do criticize and disagree with IK but in public gatherings this behavior from senior party leaders should not be tolerated. Both mother and daughter endorsing each other acts against PTI and IK. We don’t care who is leaving or who is joining PTI we were supporters of IK, still we are and inshaaAllah we remain.

I always opposed the people who abuse any politician. This article reminds me of Khan’s statement “No one can stop this tsunami except PTI itself” You should have thought of that words before leaving PTI. And I disagree that PTI has no concrete policy, have you forgotten the local government policy, Economy (exemplary) policy (This point make no sense to me) and PTI is disclosing its health policy in late September. I feel sorry for your struggle, just because of people abused you, your leaving PTI? No human can achieve anything without resistance. Your ex-leader is a great example how he faced criticism for about 7, 8 years. I think you should specify on what vision IK did compromise. What vision was before and what is now! At the end I would say, no party in this world is perfectly managed but because of personal reasons you do not leave parties unless your party is doing something wrong. You should’ve told specifically on what point You should have fought for your cause. If I were you, I would never leave the party and would fight for my cause. Good Luck!

  77. Rashid Butt September 19, 2012 at 2:43 pm #

  78. Bilal Hameed September 19, 2012 at 2:46 pm #

One more thing I would say about these old politicians who joined PTI, today PTI has most clean and honest political class. I do second khan’s statement that you need youth and experience at the same time to make the best team. Let me quote an example: We all guys watch talk shows, what we see in there, newbies need more experience and maturity to defend their party’s policy. On the other hand, old honest politician defend well PTI’s stances and policies. You can’t expect 100% from any party especially when party has shown his strength after 30 October. Your objections are genuine but not genuine enough to leave a party!

  79. Ahmed September 19, 2012 at 3:05 pm #

I agree with your views Imaan and can feel what you must have gone through. Best of luck with your plans ahead. Unfortunately PTI supporters are “abusive & educated jaahils” in Pakistan. Imran Khan is quite immature politically even after 16 years. He has more fans than followers. He is doing with you guys exactly what he has done with Javed Miandad in cricket. He seems to be a power hungry chap like any other politician. He should better stick to social work and charity collection etc, since politics in Pakistan is a different ball game..

  82. Naveed Zafar September 19, 2012 at 3:37 pm #

One should respect you, your family and the decisions you make. I am sorry and I feel ashamed of being a Muslim, this is not the way we treat our women. This is not the delima of PTI, PMLN, PPP or any other political party but it is the general behaviour of our countrymen. They talk of Muhammad Bin Qasim who came to India to help a woman but insult the same woman when they are themselves involved in any way.

I am PTI supporter but appreciate you or any one else making their decisions on their principles.

    Good Luck

  85. Baloch September 19, 2012 at 6:57 pm #

Miss Imaaan,i respect your decision. You must concentrate on your studies. In your age, every one is bit revolutionary, every one has “Commander Che” in him/herself..Every one wants the world to bend according to his own wishes and aspirations which obviously is not possible.believe me,you will laugh at your own situation and thinking some years after when you will grow bit mature. When i was of your age,i had same feelings as coming from same area like yours, always thinking about why people still endorse “Tumundari” and “Sardari” system and why donot they stand up against this inhumane system. But now i accept that this system is reality and it can only be changed by departing qulaity education and economic independence to the people.
As far as taking these “Legharis” etc into the party, let me assure you,IK is doing well.We donot have presidential system while in Parliamentary system, these parasytes are reality.Let IK kill them by using their own influence. For Exapmle,if they provide some seats to IK in National assembly and IK enforces compulsory education in Pakistan, their grip on power will have to decline by using their own political prowess.let me assure you, these “Legharis” are better choice when compared to Khosa,Qaisrani,Dreshak,Gorchanis or Mazaris.Similalry, keep one fact in mind,IK is already around 60 and he has only left with 2 more elections(may God keep him healthy and strong for longer period of time). so let him come into power by whatever mean,we are only concerned with what he does when he is in power and we believe he will deliver.
best wishes for your studies and be in contact with poor people of Rajanpur.help them to educate the women of that area as they are very oppressed people.

  86. MWK September 19, 2012 at 8:25 pm #

I was one of those who tried to defend you best i could on twitter when all hell broke loose. Your mother, Dr Shireen Mazari, i feel is an asset of Pakistan and we in PTI are lucky to have her. She is one of those who joined way before Oct 30th 2011 and she has my and pretty much every PTI workers respect. Some people command respect, not demand it and she happens to be one such person.

Reading you piece, why i left PTI, i feel it’s best for PTI that you are not part of it. I, me, myself, my 6 months, my this, my that. All i can say is good riddance. PTI is a much better place without you. I find it absurd that you should bring up Imran’s ‘ dictatorial ‘ behavior now that you have left the party. Funny how it didn’t bother you enough while you were in the party.

Then to suggest, as you put it ” Imran wanted to use Tareen’s private jet?” That to me is just sickening. It goes on to show how little you know about the man and that brings me back to what i said earlier, it’s good you are not part of PTI anymore.

You go kid, go make something of yourself and when you reach a stage in life when you are somebody and not just Shireen Mazari’s daughter then we will see. People like you are a dime a dozen in Pakistan, most would be a better, a far better bet than you. You are a nobody-you get, a nobody! All this reaction and attention you have received is because you are Dr Shireen Mazari’s daughter. Without her, most would not give you the time of day.. No one is irreplaceable, no one and if you or someone close to you think they can hold the party to ransom then they have another thing coming. You can act like a spoilt brat at home and with your pompous friends, PTI certainly is not the place for it.

Good luck in your future endeavors and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

Your words are honest and your analysis is reasonable, but remember one thing; all that happened with you is the same reason why we call politics dirty…..

One sick mind !!! You just made my day girl.. you are such a pathetic soul that u always make me laugh 😀 way to go girl :p keep entertaining us please.

    1) Who do you think you are? Your last name being Mazari doesn’t mean you are better than the rest of insafians !!! Explain how u got into the Rajanpur PTI body?

    2) Somewhere you said ” PTI is the last option ” and latter on you say ” Khan is not good as a politician” .. i mean are you seriously kidding me kid ?? No please, seriously ? hahahahahahahahahaha ” A PARTY IS LAST OPTION N HOPE AND THAT HOPE/OPTION IS NOT EVEN GOOD AT THAT”” I mean ROFFL ..

    3) Who are you to tell what your leader should do in first place?

    4) If you can not take criticism you just leave that. Go to school and study hard.

    5) And please we don’t want you to save us. Go save something else.. May be a fly or something.

  89. waqar amjad September 20, 2012 at 1:04 am #

warning alert it may sound a bit harsh..
Initially i must add i am not a pti supporter but and observer
Despite his dictatorial decisions in the PSC in granting Musharraf’s ex-ministers the most significant positions in the party,
You used the word dictatorial for imran khan ..Your mother joined pti in 2008 and was made vice president of pti wasn’t that a dictatorial decision wasn’t your mother nominated rather than elected..If imran khan can dictate and make your mother the vice president cant he make nominate other people as well. What about the old workers who have been part of pti for 10 or 15 years shouldn’t they be made vice presidents rather than some one who joined 4 years ago. I hate it when pti supporters on twitter start attacking due to difference of opinion, but i must admit they are justified to be angry this time. I did a bit research you were never a pti youth leader never an isf leader you are known as shireen mazari’s daugter that’s it. Hereditary politics is a curse where a child of a political leader writes a blog and get circulated by the anchors of our media as a mocking tool. Hereditary politics is a curse when an ordinary worker writes an impressive article and nobody pays attention to it..The real workers of any political party are those who are on ground and not those who crib and cry on twitter. They are known as burgers of our society. You are too young for politics for that you need to be mentally rough. Workers of political parties get hammered in the street they sweat they struggle they dont crib and say we got pelted with stones in a jalsa where i was given a special seating because i was son or daughter of so and so..This is the problem of our politics where undue people get more attention..A youth wing leader or an isf leader should be in discussion rather than a pampered child…

  90. Tariq September 20, 2012 at 1:54 am #

    Hi,
I dont know, who you are…is it shireen mazari?
Anyhow, you have let party leadership and others know and your values as an individual are important. PTI is receiving power hungry lords. And it is not a change. I wonder how could IK alone could change all this.

  91. Khalid Javaid September 20, 2012 at 1:56 am #

Not a good decision to leave the party. In this case you have given the chance to the people which you feel like have hijacked the party to strengthen their roots.

  92. Hani September 20, 2012 at 3:09 am #

lol..what an ego trip this blog post was. The truth is that Imaan H Mazari is an egoistic, loud mouthed, idiot. As much as she would like to believe otherwise, the truth is that she got into PTI because of her mother, not because of all the ‘work’ she thinks she has done for the party. Thanks to her ego, she proved impossible to work with and managed to alienate herself within the 6 or so months she was in PTI. Quite frankly, the party is better off without her embarrassing herself every other day on twitter.

“Is this a nation I really want to save?” No, Imaan H Mazari. We don’t want you to ‘save’ us, now fuck off.

  95. Saud September 20, 2012 at 7:24 am #

I believe that entering or leaving a party is a personal decision. The important fact is that one should highlight the flaws and identify the people who are changin IK. I belive that knowing what SRA did for Pindi is not bad. He has a good if no the best of track records. I have my reservations on teh Kasuri and the Niazis. But In the end I would like to say that we did not like this government yet none of us wanted the Army to Takeover (Although I wished it everytime) but we wanted to kill the issue “We weren’t given enought time”. IK and his Party needs to get rid of people. I think if the decision would have come after the current party internal elections that would have been great. I respect Imaan’s Mother and some times felt also a little uneasy at how Imaan worked or commented but I believe that is an entirely personal matter and If that was a cause of concern and if Imaan stood up for any election that would play its due course (if it mattered) Point is.. In the End.. We should not stop Believing in PAKISTAN. PTI or no PTI our Agenda is the SAME. We need to ROUTE OUT CORRUPT PEOPLE. CORRUPT AT HEART, THINKING or FINANCIALLY. We will do it.. Its Important that we do that in PTI NOW! We should not Make PTI as IK’s Party it is everyone’s Party. Imaan you should have publically brought out ur differences with some of the decsions and maybe people would have given to better settlement… Lets All Stand for Change and the Way Forward for Pakistan!!

  96. zohaib September 20, 2012 at 7:59 am #

good it its.. i agree with the author… PTI is behaving exactly like an extremely immature political party that is finding it difficult to to hold the sudden rise and its members are converting it into a stupid mob……………

I have a strong feeling tht u will repent ur decision and wipl join PTI soon becuz ppl like u r assets for PTI. Hope u read my msgs and have a brief thinking on it.

  98. Ali September 20, 2012 at 11:09 am #

    Hi Miss Mazari,
I’m a common supporter of Imran Khan and PTI. I really feel sorry for your mother having problems with PTI leadership and it will be a worst news for us to hear the news of her leaving PTI. We, the youth of Pakistan have been disappointed at our political system and people since last 10 years or so. We had almost lost hope in Pakistan and many people were thinking of leaving Pakistan as soon as they get a chance and on the other hand many of us were going towards bloody revolution to change the system altogether. And they were most likely to join religious groups. But. But we saw a hope, a last chance of civilized way of bringing change in Pakistan under the umbrella of PTI. This was due to the honest, bright, dedicated and extremely credible character of Imran Khan. But he couldn’t do this alone. He needed people who are sincere and who are in politics, not to do business, but for a cause. The people who dedicate their lives for Pakistan. And there are a very few such faces in PTI who have these traits. Your mother is one of those.

When a party is extending and new politicians are joining in the party, then it’s natural that Imran Khan will have to divide his attention the old party members should accept that they are going to be less in focus. The old party members should sacrifice because what is important shouldn’t be an individual, but the party as a whole. Any step which makes the party strong should be supported by old as well as new members of the party because that will ultimately help party achieve it’s objective.

Dr.Shiri Mazari shouldn’t break her long affiliation with PTI just because of this incident. She should understand that Imran Khan is not a god. He can’t please everyone at the same time. All he can do is minimize the clash between old and new members. This may result in disappointment for either of them, but for us, the common party members what matter is that party should get strong. We need a strong party where we can be able to win next elections and then bring a socio economic change in Pakistan.

So please think that Imran Khan is a human and not a god and can’t always make a 100% correct decision. But being a leader, he has to take decisions which may be harsh for some.

As for as the abuse of people on internet is concerned, I apologize on behalf of common youth supporters of PTI for that. You should realize that it’s not party’s fault if someone abuses you on internet because party doesn’t have 100% control over all it’s supporters. And second thing you should realize that after 30th October jalsa in lahore, PMLN has formed many social media cells where many people are being paid high salaries to do internet propaganda, spread rumors, create fake accounts as PTI supporters and do abuse to media persons as well as party leaders who have differences with central leadership.

At the end, we again request you and your mother to stay sticked to PTI and Imran Khan and join hands with him and strengthen him to bring a change in Pakistan. He can’t do it alone. And, god forbid, if he fails this time, our country will have to see a bloody revolution. And in that case, we see religious parties taking lead.

    • Usama Najam (@UsamaTheGenuine) September 26, 2012 at 11:09 am #

I strongly appreciate this piece , Miss Imaan and Miss Shireen . Both of you should reconsider your decisions and come back to PTI bring about change !

  99. Zahoor September 20, 2012 at 4:09 pm #

Not impressive decision to be honest. Party is collection of so many people and mentalities, therefore, you can not blame every one on the scale of few people who may have disrespected you. However, you could have raised issues with IK rather deciding to leave the party. You would agree with me that in other parties their are such people as well so obviously we have to live in the existing environment and bring the change.

Well, i can understand her position, this is bloody crappy shit that we as pti followers have become brutally harsh and judgmental. Well she has the right to speak her heart out. well i dont blame her, i hope Ik can mend his ways with Mazari family, they stood when no one else was there. Well but i can understand OK position as well, cause these sick electable are harsh reality as well who gets your to PM house. so balancing both would be hard at times.we will really miss you Imaan, i hope you could look beyond these tiny ignorence issues and focus on larger issues we need people like you who self criticize and self improve no matter they heard or not but they must be putting a score and it will eventually effect it.

wish you all the best, we would really be glad to have you back some where down the line in we all PTI members are not alike, and we should value the difference of opinion within our selves. We will miss you in our team.

Imaan Mazari daughter of respectable Shireen Mazari should be ashamed of herself for doing dirty propoganda against our party, our chairman and most importantly the loyal die heart party workers…u insulted us without looking in urself.
PTI gave ur mother respect which i can bet she would never get in any other party. Just to get attention of people like Sana Bucha u just wrote a rubbish article. Ur mother in her unique hair style(which is not in pakistani culture) has given speeches at all stages in PTI…and never have PTI felt little discouraged about her dressing or her unique style. U blame my chairman without knowing about him. Did u not Ask ur mother before projecting urself my wrong means. The way she stood at PTI meetings and insulted the party chairman while chairman patiently took her insult. Doesnt she tell u the way she interrupts him, several times in one meeting when sitting right next to the great KHAN. shame on Imaan mazari who has no political back ground. Who once screamed at her mother for bringing PTI flags inside the house. If u knew u would never blame Khan for anything. The insulting way ur talking about a 60 year old who has not seen his bed for last one month. How dare u blame him like this. when PTI had only two spokesmen that were KHAN and DR SHIREEN MAZARI, and Dr Mazari WOULDN’T go to talk shows just because it was ‘cold’ outside. But ur mother’s leader understood the problem.

Being an eye witness and trying to be neutral observer of all situation in D.G.Khan and Rajan pur Ik plane landed at 2.20pm .After press conference at air port he went to workers convention or so called JALSA(less than 1000 ppl) hosted by EX MPA of pml(q) at his house where no party workers were present. After attending workers convention IK moved towards Choti (Legharis Home town) and reached at 4.30 pm and distributed food items with in 15 min and decided to go to lodran. IK didnt visited flood effected areas in D.G.Khan. I was really shocked when i heard from one of PTI worker that EX MPA requested for PTI flags and he gave him only 25 flags. He had not a single flag at his home….. People of DGK are shaky about PTI and need IK to visit again DGK to neutralize the situation for party election.(IF ANYONE IS DOUBTING PLZ CONFIRM FROM ANY LOCAL WORKER FROM D.G.Khan JOINED BEFORE 30 oct JALSA).

As far as Dr. shireen Mazari is concern she is an asset to PTI. she is the best spokesperson of PTI on every front and media. she is a real supporter of PTI. PTI should not let her go if they really want a CHANGE in country She totally agree with the ideology of PTI and IK.

I heard about Dr shireen mazri s Late father Ashiq Mazari who owned a plane in late 60s and supported Zulfiqr Ali Bhutto to establish PPP and was against feudal system. He quit PPP when these Feudal s entered in PPP before 1977 election.

I agree that Iman Mazari took hasty decision and should not go so far. i also criticize PTI lovers that they should not cross limits regarding any personality with in the party or out of the party. The person who is leaving the party not because of IK and his ideology but may be because of turncoats hanging around IK.

let us see now that ISI has stopped funding PTI. without billion of Rupees funds from ISI how can PTI win a seat of national assembly. Though Imran is trying to work on the agenda of ISI and the political branch of ISI which is Jumat e Islami but still it seems that ISI now don’t see him a suitable person to back and that is because of his stupid speeches which are full of abuse and no logic. He is incapable of giving respect to some one and to him the only person respectable in the whole world is Imran Khan.

Well well good to know at least someone is there who is bold enough to speak the truth and not dishonest. Basically Imaan you are not dishonest with yourself. I wish you best of luck for your projects in Rajanpur. Well I truly APPRECIATE your decision to keep yourself away from politics. Imaan, reading your blog I realized that your main objective is/was to help the people of Rajanpur. So work on your projects if you do care about them and for others who believe Pakistan comes first hmmmm start taking care of your home and family and collectively we will all be taking care of this Country we all LOVE.

I do agree with the most of the things which u have mentioned but when u decide to follow a leader than I think must trust ur leader at least till the time when ur leader holds a position in power unless and that time comes we must trust imran and when he would b in power only than we should take steps which u have taken right now. Onething should always take timely decisions.

  107. Muhammad Yousaf (@Hashir2001) September 22, 2012 at 7:01 am #

Infect this my humble request to all of you that we should understand the politics of Pakistan where nearly 70% of the population is illiterate and also most of them are below the poverty line. Here we have been divided in two groups , one group have all the facilities, information and knowledge and the second who are in majority just impress with influence people with wealth and Police. I still think that i have trust in Imran Khan because i believe leader only can change and others would not be able to do any thing when imran would come in power. True example is for Nawaz Shareef and Zardari , they can do whatever they want. Even their important persons like Javed hashmi, Shah mahmood, Afzal Sandho , Sardar Asif Ahmed ali etc etc resigned but still Zardari and Nawaz sharif can do any thing they want to do. So we should keep eye on Imran khan. Please do dont give space to these corrupt leaders and keep support for Pakistan and i strongly believe that Nawaz shareef and Zardari cant do any thing for Pakistan as they dont the intention and even ability as well.

Well that’s what happens when you promote some teenage wanna be politician to a senior position just because she is the daughter of some1 senior.. no political experience.. no touch with local politics and no idea how a leader diffrentiate from masses in order to effectively leading them.. I have been involved in many gathering of Imran Khan and PTi and know very well that sometimes such things happen.. If she had any idea abt Imran Khan’s life and things he is doing, she wud never complain.. This great man is made of steel or something.. i really wonder when he sleeps and eats.. and here ppl bashing him like anything for one cancelled meeting??? by the way you criticism abt promoting electibles has already died due to so many so called electibles running away after seeing that Khan will not compromise on principles..
plz tell me what makes you eligible for critisizing on Khan? what’s your cridentials?? i found just your TWEETS.. wake up kiddooo!!!

  111. Amirzadah September 24, 2012 at 4:49 am #

Its not only that Mr Khan didnt attend the Rajanpur event BUT for me his most digusting and politically immature act was his Pindi jalsa with Sh. Rasheed and no doubt allowing turncoats and lotas like Khwaja Hoti Tareens etc indicates that Mr Khan has conceeded to the agents of status quo,I still hope and pray that he change his this turn-around and stick again to his previous principled politics as he is The only HOPE others are all plunderers looters and hypocrates.

  112. Hammad September 25, 2012 at 2:56 am #

That’s very sad. But I think original workers of PTI should not leave party instead they should organize their like minded people to form an influential group within the party to influence the policy makers. In Pakistan it is very wrong concept that party leader is the owner of the party. Parties should belong to workers who suffer a lot because of these parties.

  113. Zubair September 25, 2012 at 4:57 am #

I think I.S.I has realized that it has chosen a weak horse for elections and now it seems to be funding PTI very cautiously. Many of those who were planning to be very soon on the helm of power can see the writing on the wall now.Without ISI backing PTI can hardly win 5 to 7 seats of national assembly. So why to be with a party with no future.

  114. Sajid Azeem (@sajidazeem662) September 25, 2012 at 9:14 am #

After going though “worthy comments” on this article by highly spirited and charged youth of PTI ,i can only hope and pray that GOOD MORAL FIBRES, which unluckily could not be inculcated in their personalities during their grooming stage due to numerous social factors, may be ;some how are reinvigorated by their beloved leader to turn them into civilzed ,respectful citizens of this country.

  115. JS September 25, 2012 at 11:29 am #

Hello. You’re too cute. Personality wise.

  116. Rehma September 26, 2012 at 10:53 am #

Hi! i respect your decision to leave PTI. clash of ideology and grievances need to be addressed in party meetings instead of resorting to social media. The “inqalabi” youth needs to understand this and accept the fact that no one in Pakistan or the world for that matter is a perfect honest “pak parsa” person. everyone has their faults but growth in society lies in criticizing the faults in a civil manner but dilemma of our generation is resorting to 4 letter words due to lack of sense and vocabulary. You have to accept the fact that you will be criticized for your work and words but abuse is not acceptable, shame on the people who abuse their right to speech.
as for Mr,Khan, he is a wonderful philanthropist and building Shaukat Khanum was the best decision of his life so far. but when it comes to politics it is simply not your cup of tea. change without a consistent and concrete plan leads only to a messy situation. yes, drone attacks are bad, yes Pakistan is way down in the dumps right now but hoping for a quick fix is not the way to go. remember Obama’s 2008 election slogan: CHANGE, that right, 4 years down the road nothing much has changed. if Khan is accepting known lotas and deviants, the real test lies with Khan being a leader and not compromising his principles, the minute he does, he is no different from the rest of the political parties. Khan has a lot to learn, like not supporting the independent candidate in Multan elections was a grave mistake.
PTI party members stop attacking party leaders and the new inductees, challenge the policy, contribute to making a plausible and practical future plan. this is what the youth should be doing not lashing out on facebook/twitter just to increase your popularity.

  117. Faisal Imran September 26, 2012 at 3:05 pm #

First of all like to thank Imaan for this thinking about Pakistan. I think she and her mother should understand PTI at starting because all the people which are part of that party are corrupt or they were the part of ISI in one way or other. How they could server better they are all fighting for their seats that don’t concern with the people of Pakistan.
Well Come back to you and your mother back to social work.

Way to go Imaan. Study hard and live your life, politics is for fools. If elections and these ‘electables’ changed anything, they’d make it illegal. IK’s men are of narrow vision, who are afraid of the future. I only hope he wakes up before he drowns himself in his own tsunami.

I still say and belive what musharraf used to say about PTI, that it is a tonga party. Ms Shireen’s decision to leave PTI is fully endorsed as Imran Khan is attracted to big bucks and not thinkers and writers like Ms Shireen.

Imaan Mazari I think that the issue of Shireen Mazari’s resignation has taken a toll on people for all the wrong reasons. Shireen Mazari as IK said is a balochi who is hot blooded and has resigned in a very immature manner. There was the option of tabling her concerns within the party, but the truth is that Shireen Mazari’s temper over shadowed her thought process. You as her daughter who is dependant upon her would obviously follow in her footsteps and do what she did i.e. resign from the only party that can and will bring change. There will be many Shireen mazari’s who will come and go BUT there is and will be only ONE IMRAN KHAN who will steer pakistan out of anarchy and betrayal. I am sorry for the abuse that you took but I doubt any of it came from true Insafians. The country went crazy on sacrilegious film and went so violent which was ironic because Islam stands for peace. You expect such people to praise you for leaving PTI or being against it? Even if PTI members did not abuse you I’m sure non PTI members took advantaged and abused you only to malign PTI. I don’t know what the internal rift between your mother and Jahangir Tareen was but if his plane benefits Imran khan and his party and solve his transportation worries then WHY NOT? You choose members for the benefits, Javed Hashmi brings his vast experience to the party, Jahangir Tareen wants to reset his sins and brings his plane to ease travel, BIG DEAL? Before you say that im a Jahangir Tareen fan-don’t fool yourself- i don’t care who he is or how much money he throws for PTI. He might be corrupt but let me tell you that if Imran Khan was a man who could let corrupt people ruin his ideology then Shaukat Khanum would’ve collapsed long time ago as there are many people who’d want to ruin it. In the end – I respect your mother but she needs to think with a cool mind and put her ego aside. It’s politics and that too against Zardari, you need a lot of pawns and a lot of knights to defeat PPP. If those knights or pawns come in the shape of Jahangir Tareen then why not for the sake of Pakistan? I hope you move on with your life and stop making a big deal out of it. You come from a good family but PTI deserves a chance just like every one else got one. Whether he’s wrong or right in his principles we will give him a chance and watch his leadership. No offence to you! I am not biased but I truly believe that PTI is worth a chance.

  126. Aimen Tahir Khan September 30, 2012 at 1:44 am #

    Hello Imaan, 🙂
I know you not and in fact its been these last three days that I’ve come across the fact that you exist.
Never followed what your mum said, neither you, owing to academic requirements for now but always been this PTI supporter at heart.
Imaan, everyone out there in this world especially in a Third World nation as ours are cut-throat ambitious. Those who can tweet, blog and use facebook from the lot definitely are for they waste their time on public platforms believing in the notion that one must speak for anything that concerns them, as nations and as individuals.
You are at a young age where perhaps one takes decisions based on the heart rather than the mind. We all do that at such a tender age but what is wise is that one must not make blames on people when they dont actually realise the complexity of the situation. Yes, I was upset on getting to know IK couldn’t make it to Rajanpur. It definitely is very upsetting to be mentally prepared for a particular expectation and then not see it happening. All my sympathies to that, but the wise person rises above that, understands the situation’s technicality and smiles on a compromise. Oh come on! If you were part of the PTI – the one party literally struggling for THE change, ”THE” change Imaan, then the compromise would’ve been a piece of cake.
I would suggest, give your utmost time to your education, get degrees and ”shine”, and once you feel more powerful at the mind and heart only then should you step forward in the political arena- if at all.
I say this as just another Pakistani student yes, but also as someone for whom politics isn’t new. I’ve followed this and have had a great interest in it throughout all the years that I grew up. Also, I too am a law student like you, more senior obviously but maybe law to law we could develop a better understanding of this issue and you’d take my advice seriously.
Imaan, when Lahore jalsa got successful, pakistanis hoping for a change everywhere were all very happy. We felt what we hoped for would finally come and there could possibly be no stopping. When next, IK shook hands with all these feudal politicians, for a bit we were taken aback and shocked as much as you and your mother yes, but we ignored that, for we believed in ideology, we believed in the hope that PTI gave to us, that it still gives to us. Hence, everything else is simply rubbish to talk of, for at the end of the day what really does unite us as fellow Pakistanis, as citizens who CARE for their Mother Soil is just plain ideology Imaan, and as long as we live, as long as IK lives, PTI shall continue living under that very ideology for it is a belief within us – no particular feudal politician can take it away from us. Nothing comes easily Imaan, and THE change that we all dream about is definitely the toughest goal we have set for ourselves, therefore a lot must be taken, many tears must be shed, but eventually we should all rise above the mess and hope for a better tomorrow. Remember what Iqbal said?
”Muhabbat mujhe unn jawanon se hai, sitaaron pay jo daaltay hain kamandd”
On that very note Imaan, I hope you take what I said seriously and positively. Good luck. 🙂

If you really believe that “I wear what I want and I live my personal life exactly the way I want to – that is between me and myself” then you have no business to be in politics. Politics is about representing the people and reflecting their values. It is a collective social exercise, not a personal quest for fulfillment by condescendingly doing “social service” for the “poor downtrodden.” You need to revise your attitiude or else you will end up as detested as your mother and other specimens such as Asma Jehangir. And mind you, those specimens of personal liberation have never ventured into politics.

Only a diseased, inherently feudal mindset can come up with the convoluted understanding that politics is about an elite, westernized memsahib in hot pants strutting her stuff before the TV cameras gamely “fighting for the downtrodden” to the applause of western audiences and the human rights paltan. Politics cannot get more feudal than a westernized richbitch in spagetti straps verbally separating herself away from the electorate, looking down on them as people different from and far inferior to herself, then throwing some bheek and tasteless verbal sympathy at the “poor downtrodden” and getting to parliament that way. Politics cannot get more khokla and quality-corrupt than for a hapless electorate to elect a shameless, immodest hussy whom they actually detest from the bottom of their hearts in the hope that some little bheek will fall in their direction due to her majesty’s kindness. You are so full of your own smug elitism, it really stinks.
